Lion Camp Dorset 2012 Mini Putt Report

Hello Lions Family and Friends!
This is my Lions Camp Dorset Mini Putt final report for 2012.

As most know the course was ready and tested the week before the big event that was held on the weekend of Jan 20^th

We had 32 teams register for the event but 8 teams backed out the last minute! So this left us 25 teams to play and help raised the much-needed funds for the Camp!
As in the past the team members who rented cottages for the weekend started to arrive on Friday afternoon and settle in for a weekend of fun!

  Friday events starting at 5:00 pm where we served up our annual Fondue! But this year we added Rib-fest!

Then it was on to the Poker night with 6 tables of 8 playing! Each table had two winners of first and second place and there were lots of cheers from the winners and heads held low for the not so lucky ones! This night in the Rec Hall finally shut down around 2 am. and some moved to the cottages to carry on!

  Saturday morning at 5:00 am saw me back to get the annual breakfast started! I had the coffee going and the stoves warming when my helpers started to arrive any time after 7:00 am! For the breakfast this year every one had pancakes & sausage along with cooked ham, home fries, OJ and tea or coffee! Big Thanks to all the helpers!

Then at 11:00 am Mark Bryan my co-chair started to organize the teams to get ready to play the grueling 18 holes in front of them! Teams where ready and could not wait to test their skills!

  Please forgive me if I left anyone out! It can be a hectic time running this event so not all gets marked down! And I may have missed you! Or you may have forgotten to donate and wish to help out next year??

  I am please to say we also had this year several cash donations from people who came out to play!

  Dinner:
So all in all the golf was a get success topped of with another great meal of Pulled Pork & 4 different salads, home made beef stew, ice cream and macaroon bars along with tea & coffee!

Entertainment:
Lou Moore was back to play for 4 hours straight and all had a good time listening or dancing up a storm to our friend Lou’s music!
